A message from Mr Arthur - Head of School

I am excited to begin a new challenge at Ashton Vale as Head of School and be part of establishing an amazing school that offers children the best possible opportunities to learn and develop.

I grew up and trained as a teacher in Australia before making the UK my home twenty years ago. In this time, I have worked in a number of diverse settings both in Bristol and in London which allowed me to work with amazing staff, children and families that have helped shaped the teacher I am today.

I have been a school leader for half of my career, both as a maths and curriculum specialist leader in education and for the past seven years, a deputy headteacher. This position has allowed me to lead school improvement over a number of settings, creating exciting, purposeful curriculum that all children can find both success and pride in.

Our children learn best in a safe, engaging environment with a curriculum that is both suited to their needs and challenges them to their full potential. My role as Head of School will be to ensure that all of the children of Ashton Vale are given the opportunity to best learn, develop and grow their love of learning, in order to leave primary school with the skills, attitude and knowledge to find success, enjoyment and the chance to choose their own futures.

Ashton Vale Primary School is built around values of community, partnerships with parents and a rich and diverse curriculum that I will continue to develop and grow in order to strengthen what makes our school an amazing place of learning.
